Roger Williams University 40-Hour Divorce Mediation Training Program

•    Description
This program is designed to provide an intensive 40-hour course during which individuals will acquire the practical skills and techniques for competent mediation.  This program fulfills the 40-hour Divorce Mediation training requirement of the Rhode Island Family Court and has received approval for (20) Continuing Legal Education credits by the Rhode Island M.C.L.E. Commission.  Attendance for the full 40 hours is required for the Certificate of Completion.

•    Who Should Attend
This program is recommended for professionals who are interested in learning the basic skills needed to practice mediation within the context of divorce.  It is particularly suited to lawyers, psychologists, social workers, family therapists, counselors and others from professions that focus on marriage and family relationships.

•    Course Content
The course focuses on cultivating the skills of a mediator and covers specific issues
addressed in the context of the divorce process. 

•    Class Size
Class size is limited to 20 enrollees.  Minimum class size is 12.

•    Meeting Location
This course will meet at the Providence campus which is located at 150 Washington
Street, Providence, Rhode Island.  [Location is subject to change.]

•    Course Fee
The cost of the training is $1,100 per person.  This fee includes a comprehensive training
manual with forms and materials that can be used in individual practice.  Lunches and
refreshments are also included in the fee.  Register by August 3rd at a discounted fee of
$1,000 per person.

•    Dates
August 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, 28     5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
August 16, 23        9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
