NE-ACR 2010 ANNUAL MEETING & PROGRAM ON FACILTATION

NEACR 2010 Annual Meeting
Followed by a Program on Facilitation with Jack Wofford and Ona Ferguson

Tuesday April 6th from 5:30-8pm

Wellesley Public Library

We will start the evening at 5:30pm with refreshments and an opportunity to socialize with colleagues, to try out some ice breaker exercises, and to participate in an optional interactive facilitation experience.

A brief Chapter Meeting will be held at 6:15pm and will include the Election of the NEACR Board of Directors and Officers. 

At 6:45pm, our program will feature two of the area's most experienced and prominent facilitators, Jack Wofford, and Ona Ferguson of the Consensus Building Institute. They will share stories and lessons learned, addressing questions such as: Why is multi-party facilitation needed, what can it accomplish, and when is it appropriate?  How does it differ from mediation?  What key process steps are usually included?  What are the opportunities and trends going forward?  The session will be interactive, with time for open discussion about facilitating complex processes.

JACK WOFFORD is an independent facilitator, mediator and arbitrator who for over 40 years has dealt with groups in conflict over such issues as the future of Boston's highway and transit system, design of the new bridge over the Charles River, leadership succession for a family-owned business, and communication and decision-making in a church parish.

ONA FERGUSON is a Senior Associate at the Consensus Building Institute, where she provides natural resource and public policy facilitation and mediation services. Ona's recent work has included collaborative research on coastal management, a superfund site advisory committee, and off-road vehicle management on public lands. 

Jack and Ona are both based in Cambridge.

The Meeting will be held in the Wakelin Room on the first floor of the Wellesley Library, 530 Washington Street, Wellesley, MA.

Members           $20  through March 20th, $25 thereafter
Non-Members  $30 through March 20th,  $35 thereafter
Students            $15
