Some parties come to mediation represented by lawyers who may or may not have a clear sense of how mediation is different from other dispute resolution processes. The mediator may be faced with additional challenges when lawyers are present in mediation. This training will provide the mediator with a framework for maintaining control of the mediation process while helping the lawyer to be part of the solution and not part of the problem.
Video demonstrations of different lawyer behaviors will be utilized and attendees will participate in a short role-playing exercise. Coverage will include a unit on the ethical responsibilities of lawyers in mediation.
RI MEDIATORS ASSOCIATION MEMBER $30.00
NON-MEMBER $45.00
STUDENT $15.00
REFUND POLICY: Full refund available up to 4 days prior to training. After that, partial refund available to equal payment less a $10 administrative fee.
