The theme for both the Fall Program 2015 and the Annual Meeting/Spring Program 2016 will be "Identity as a Lens for Analysis in Dispute Resolution." Our first program, Identity, Culture and Conflict Resolution will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at Harvard Law School hosted by the Program on Negotiation (PON).

We are thrilled to bring members and non-members not one, but an entire panel of qualified and highly accomplished conflict resolution professionals. The evening's discussion will be led by the following panelists:


• Panelist Kimberlyn Leary is an associate professor of psychology at the Harvard Medical School and chief psychologist at the Cambridge Health Alliance. She is also currently the Advisor to the Council on Women and Girls at the White House. Kimberlyn’s global work on conflict negotiations includes studying “critical moments” in mediations to end armed conflict in Southeast Asia and researching social enterprise ventures in the Middle East. • Panelist Alain Lempereur is the Alan B. Slifka Professor and Director of the Coexistence and Conflict Program at The Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University. For 20 years, in over 50 countries, Alain has run research, executive education and consulting missions for international organizations, national governments, global consulting firms and corporations. He belongs to the UN mediators' network. Click here for more information about Alain.


• Panelist Hugh O’Doherty is a Senior Associate with the Cambridge Leadership Associates, was the Program Director at the Glencree Center for Peace and Reconciliation of Ireland and directed the Northern Ireland Inter-Group Relations Project. Hugh has consulted with a wide variety of clients including the Irish Civil Service, the American Leadership Forum, the Episcopalian Clergy Leadership Program, the City of Somerville, and the Mohawk Community Leadership Program in Canada. He has consulted in Bosnia, Croatia and Cyprus and has addressed the United Nations Global Forum on Re-Inventing Government. Click here for more information about Hugh.


Moderator Samuel (Mooly) Dinnar is a former NEACR board member. Mooly is an instructor for the Harvard Negotiation Institute at Harvard Law School and an experienced mediator. Mooly has also lived and worked in Europe and Israel for many years, gaining invaluable experience in negotiations dealings across various continents and cultures. Click here for more information about Mooly.


In association with PON, NEACR brings this outstanding panel discussion to members and non-members free of charge. However, we do ask that attendees kindly RSVP by registering online before Friday, October 9, 2015. Space will be limited to 150 attendees and seats will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Upon entering Austin Hall on the campus of Harvard Law School, keep an eye out for signs pointing you to the precise location of the event. Hot and cold beverages and appetizers will be provided for program attendees. For those not able to make it to this program, a recorded version will be made accessible through a link on the NEACR website a few days following the program.
