Northeastern Invitational Mediation Tournament/Northeastern University

  • 08 Oct 2015
  • Northeastern University Law School, 416 Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02115

This year's edition of the annual Northeastern Invitational Mediation Tournament features schools from all over the country and overseas. For that reason, more judges than ever before are needed to make this a successful event. The tournament committee is currently looking for volunteers available at the following times:

Round 1: Friday, October 9, 2015 from 1:00pm - 4:00pm (16 judges needed)

Round 2: Friday, October 9, 2015 from 5:00pm - 8:00pm (16 judges needed)

Round 3: Saturday, October 10, 2015 from 9:00am - 12:00pm(16 judges needed)

If you are available, please go to http://www.inadr.org/judge-registration-for-2015-northeastern-mediation-tournament/ to register as a judge. Please do so by October 8.

Judges training will be provided before the start of each competitive round to ensure you are familiar with the judging process and to answer any questions you may have.

In general, these competitions are for undergraduate and law school students who are interested in pursuing careers in mediation and ADR. The competitive portion of the event consists of three rounds wherein each student on each team gets the opportunity to compete in the role of a mediator, attorney-advocate and client.

As the judge, you would be given a scorecard and asked to evaluate each student on his or her performance in each role. At the end of each competitive round you will be given an opportunity to provide direct feedback to participants about their performance in the competition.

At the end of the competition, awards will be given to the top performers in each category.

Your willingness to participate as a judge will go a long way toward ensuring participants are inspired and excited about the prospect of pursuing mediation and ADR as a career. We hope you will take time to consider joining at this event.
