Cutting Edge Issues in Commercial Arbitration/Boston Law Collaborative

  • 22 Sep 2016
  • 8:15 AM - 10:15 AM
  • Boston Law Collaborative, 99 Summer Street, Boston, MA 02110

Consumer arbitration has come in for its fair share of criticism based upon concerns about unequal bargaining power and lack of consent. Even in the world of business-to-business arbitration where those potential issues are significantly less prominent, however, business owners have questioned whether arbitration is really any better than litigation and expressed concerns about the risks involved (expensive, inefficient, lack of appeals).

Join experienced neutrals Jim McGuire of JAMS as well as Boston Law Collaborative ADR and AAA Panel Member Conna Weiner for a spirited discussion of the issues. Jim and Conna will bring their real world experience to the table in distinguishing consumer and commercial arbitration, outlining the criticisms and risks of commercial arbitration and identifying the key tools that will mitigate those risks and help create the business-friendly and efficient arbitration that the business community wants.

Held at BLC in downtown Boston, a light breakfast and networking time will be provided from 8:15am to 8:45am, followed by the actual program from 8:45am to 10:15am. There is no registration fee for this program, but RSVP is required. For more information or to register for free, click here.
