About the Pioneer Award

New England is a region rich in resources, including people who have helped create and nurture the field of dispute resolution.

To honor these individuals, NE-ACR presents its Pioneer Award. Given at the chapter's regional conference for almost two decades, the award recognizes ADR practitioners who have been active in the field for many years, have made significant contributions to the conflict resolution community, and have shown a passionate commitment to the profession's growth and development.

There is no formal nomination process. Months in advance of a regional conference, the members of the chapter's board of directors review candidates suggested by their colleagues and others in the conflict resolution community. The award is given only at the chapter's regional conference and only when directors agree that an individual has distinguished himself or herself over many years and merits recognition at this gathering of peers.

The recipients are truly among the profession's -- and the region's -- most energetic and dedicated practitioners.
